We stopped at a couple spots on Minnesota's North Shore, which is a really pleasant way to start the trip. It's scenic as you would expect, and there are several good places to stop along the way. Here are a couple that we liked.

The tunnel near Two Harbors.

The lighthouse at Split Rock.

Looking up at the actual LIGHT in the lighthouse.

The view from Palisade Head is way more remarkable than this picture indicates.
